The ROVA Project is proud to announce the results of its first call for proposals for national Roma civil society coalitions. Out of 17 strong applications received, 14 coalitions have been selected to receive grants of €15,000 each for projects running between 12 and 18 months. The selection was based on the relevance of their projects for the safeguarding of EU values, the quality of project proposals and their expected impact, as well as the experience of the coalitions and their coordinators. With ERGO Network’s support, the coalitions will, among other things, monitor the implementation of national Roma strategic frameworks and advocate for urgent issues such as ending segregation in education, improving housing conditions, and strengthening the participation of Roma civil society in national decision-making.
The names of selected coalitions and their coordinators will be announced after the signature of the grant agreements. They are foreseen in: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.
Through these grants, the ROVA Project strengthens Roma voices at the national level and ensures that Roma rights are safeguarded in policymaking across the European Union.
