Amaro alisaripe- Vårt val strengthens Roma democratic participation in East Gothenburg ahead of Sweden’s 2026 elections. The Roma women-led project offers civic and media literacy workshops, community outreach, and neutral dialogues with politicians. A pre-election event, peer mobilisers and Roma media improve access to information, while post-election forums support ongoing engagement.

Together against discrimination and antigypsyism

Slovenia

Preporod’s TADAG project empowers Roma communities in Slovenia to recognise, document and report antigypsyism. Through workshops in Roma settlements, a reporting toolkit, and policy and public-facing reports, the project strengthens awareness, supports Roma rights, and opens national dialogue on discrimination. It promotes EU values of equality, dignity and participation while improving access to reporting mechanisms.

Enhancing Traveler Civic Engagement: Advocacy, Memory, and Storytelling Against anti-Gypsyism

France

ANGVC’s ETMA project strengthens Traveller voices in France by improving media representation and promoting ethical reporting. Through a Media Charter, training for journalists, and Traveller-led storytelling, the project challenges antigypsyism and supports democratic participation during key election years. It builds cooperation with ARCOM and journalism schools to influence public narratives nationwide.

Roma Youth Monitoring Antigypsyism

Germany

The Roma Youth Monitoring Antigypsyism project empowers Roma youth in Germany to document and respond to antigypsyism using a structured, ethical monitoring model. Youth teams in four cities collect incidents, analyse findings and publish a national youth-led report integrated into MIA’s monitoring system. Through training, mentoring and the Youth Forum against Antigypsyism, the project strengthens youth leadership, visibility and participation in public debate.

Germany

Jaw Dikh’s RAP-PL project will document the rise of Roma activism in Poland through a participatory documentary film and media campaign. By recording interviews, producing a 40-minute film and organising public screenings and articles, the initiative strengthens Roma visibility, challenges antigypsyism and promotes EU values of equality, dignity and civic participation across Poland.

May 16 Movement

France

The project “May 16 Movement” strengthens Roma rights in France through legal aid, empowerment and advocacy. The 2026 phase supports 300 people with access to housing, education and residency, trains new Roma mediators, documents discrimination cases and advances strategic litigation. Evidence gathered feeds national and European human rights mechanisms, promoting equality, dignity and long-term institutional change.

Roma Youth Multipliers – Empowering Future Leaders

Germany

The Roma Youth Multipliers project empowers 30 Roma youth in Cologne through structured training, mentoring and peer-led community actions. Participants learn about rights, EU values, leadership and civic engagement, supported by a Roma-led team and safeguarding framework. The project builds a Roma Youth Speaker Network linking young people to Cologne’s Youth Parliament and Integration Council, strengthening long-term participation and visibility.

Roma Agency and Activism in Poland: Awareness, Memory, and Movement

Poland

Kelipen e.V. will run a Roma-and women-led Theatre Atelier in Berlin to strengthen self-agency, identity and civic participation among young Roma and Sinti. Through theatre, memory activism, mentoring and public performance, participants build social skills, confidence and visibility. The project promotes equality, dignity and democratic engagement while creating a sustainable Roma-led empowerment model.

Ko sam me? Who am I? A Path to Self-Awareness

Italy

A theatre-based empowerment path for Roma and non-Roma youth in marginalised areas of Rome. Through monthly workshops, creative co-production and youth-led advocacy, the project strengthens identity, confidence and civic participation. Activities include theatre labs, mapping of local challenges, engagement with institutions, and a final public performance promoting EU values of dignity, equality and inclusion.

“Voices at the Crossroads: Empowering Roma Balkan LGBTQIA+ Communities in Brussels”

Belgium

A community-led initiative documenting the experiences of Roma LGBTQIA+ people of Balkan origin in Brussels. Through participatory research, a public roundtable, Pride visibility and targeted advocacy, the project strengthens inclusion, dignity and representation. A bilingual report and policy brief will support dialogue with equality bodies and promote EU values of human rights and non-discrimination.

I’M A ROMA WOMAN – I’M EUROPEAN: A Manifesto for Identity, Freedom and Dignity

Lithuania

An empowerment and leadership initiative for Roma women across the Baltic States.Through creative workshops, a three-month public exhibition, leadership training and a Baltic Roma Women Conference, the project strengthens identity, visibility and civic participation.A Roma Women’s Manifesto will be developed and shared with institutions to advance equality, dignity and inclusion at regional level.
